Jack Perry vs Hook FTW Title Set for AEW Dynamite July 19
Jack Perry and Hook used to be tag team partners named JungleHOOK. The rivalry between Perry and Hook started at the AEW NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 event. Perry lost to Sanada at the event in a match for IWGP World Championship. After the match, Jack Perry turned on Hook and attacked him.
On tap for tonight’s show is the Blood & Guts showdown between The Golden Elite and Blackpool Combat Club, HOOK vs. Jungle Boy for the FTW Championship, as well as the finals of the Blind Eliminator Tag-Team Tournament with Adam Cole & MJF vs. Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia.
It has been a long and bloody road to get to this third Blood & Guts battle, this time pitting Konosuke Takeshita, “The Bastard” PAC, and The Blackpool Combat Club of ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, and Wheeler Yuta against The Golden Elite of Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, The Young Bucks, and Kota Ibushi.
If given the choice, The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club might just do what the name of AEW’s video game suggests and fight forever. Alas, the conventions of pro wrestling demand that even the most baked-in grudge eventually gets settled, preferably in the most spectacular way possible. In AEW, that generally means Blood and Guts, which is taking place between these two teams tonight on Dynamite in Boston.
