WWE SmackDown predictions, preview, confirmed fights and rumours (Sept 15, 2023)
WWE SmackDown is live tonight from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado! And in what will likely become an interesting piece of trivia years from now, this will be the first televised main roster show since WWE merged with Endeavor to create TKO Holdings, meaning it’s the first episode of SmackDown not produced by a majority McMahon-owned WWE. Let’s take a look at tonight’s episode of SmackDown:
The SmackDown Women’s division is truly intense and with IYO SKY in possession of the WWE Women’s Championship, it is crucial to the titleholder’s continued success that Damage CTRL remain completely solid. Recently, however, Bayley has been thrown off her game by the bedlam created by Shotzi.
Now, The Role Model will look to send a message that she is still an extremely dangerous part of her nefarious faction when she takes on Asuka one week before The Empress of Tomorrow gets a title opportunity against The Genius of the Sky.
LA Knight will defeat The Miz in this PayBack rematch unless WWE is going for a trilogy in this feud. However, that’s unnecessary because it looks like WWE is already building a tag feud featuring John Cena and LA Knight vs. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. Since Miz owned the invisible Cena on the mic for being the special guest referee during his match with LA Knight at PayBack, Cena will get his comeuppance by screwing Miz in this match to put an end to this feud that should have ended in 2011. LA Knight will be elevated by Cena in tag action going forward.
Last week on SmackDown, The Judgment Day came and delivered a statement that they came to rule SmackDown on The Bloodlines absence. However, Bobby Lashley and Street Profits confronted them and said they are the one who is in control of SmackDown. Judgment Day later attacked AJ Styles and helped Solo Sikoa to hit Samoan Spike on AJ Styles. With them involved in all the business of SmackDown, they might show up this week too. The Judgment might pick up a feud with The O.C. following the attack of AJ Styles last week.
Beyond that, a major inter-brand bout is confirmed. The Miz from Monday Night RAW will go one-on-one with SmackDown’s LA Knight. This will be a rematch from the Payback Premium Live Event, where The Megastar stood tall.
Additionally, tons of top SmackDown stars will likely appear. Still, there may also be some intriguing moments and big surprises that will hook fans into watching for weeks to come. What major shockers may go down?
After falling short at WWE Payback with “The Greatest of All Time” John Cena serving as special guest referee, The Miz has demanded a rematch against the outspokenLA Knight.
Will the A-Lister get his retribution? Or will his charismatic adversary be saying “Yeah!!!” on the wings of another huge victory?
